Greenland is a self-ruling part of the Kingdom of Denmark. The Danish government says it is willing to grant Greenland full independence if there is local support, and recent Greenlandic elections and polls indicate there is.
Trump’s recent threat of a trade war with Denmark is changing the negotiating dynamic, says Ulrik Pram Gad, a senior researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies. The Danish government now might be more open to agreeing a divorce deal that includes some continued payments to ease Greenland’s path to independence, he says. “My prognosis is that the Danish government will accept it in the next few years,” he says. An independent Greenland would then be free to forge its own security or economic ties with the U.S., Denmark or anyone else.
In April, Greenland goes to the polls in a vote that could fire the starter gun on independence for the territory of 57,000 people. The last time elections were held, pro-independence parties got 80% of the vote.

House Republicans introduced a bill that would allow President-elect Trump to enter into negotiations with Denmark to acquire Greenland.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) last week introduced a bill that would have the Gulf of Mexico renamed the “Gulf of America” on official documents and maps.
Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) also introduced a bill last week along with 15 other Republicans that would authorize talks to repurchase the Panama Canal.

Giuliani was held in contempt for statements he made about the Georgia election workers on a recent podcast interview.
The judge threatened to imprison Rudy if he continues to violate the court order.

FBI Declares ‘No Known Threats’ for Trump’s Inauguration — 25,000 Law Enforcement and Military Deployed in Washington
Mayor Muriel Bowser, alongside district and federal authorities, assured the public during a Monday press conference that every precaution is being taken.

But Texas Governor Greg Abbott was not going to let the Regime and their jealous haters prevail. On Monday, he took a bold step to ensure Old Glory will fly loud and proud in the Lone Star State to welcome Trump back into the White House.
“Inauguration Day is a day of celebration for America,” Abbott wrote on X. “Today, I ordered flags raised to full-staff at the Texas Capitol & state buildings for President Trump’s inauguration.”
“While we honor President Carter’s service, we also celebrate an incoming President & our bright future,” he added.
