Chinese President Xi Jinping is in Lima this week to attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and pay a state visit to Peru.
Amid rising global protectionism, China is expected to use the platform to advocate for multilateralism and inclusive growth.
Meanwhile, President Xi jinping and his Peruvian counterpart Dina Boluarte have agreed to upgrade the free trade agreement between the two countries. The two leaders also inaugurated a Chinese-built mega port in Peru.
