In the first story, John visits a rural part of China and takes part in a local fortune telling ritual. But when the ritual is conducted, he is told that "someone is waiting for him" back home; he didn't tell anyone that his younger sister had just passed a couple of weeks before.
In the second story, a young girl starts to hear whispers coming from her room. Curious, she begins to ask questions and even for its name, with the mysterious entity revealing itself as "Emily". Then one day, she musters up the courage to ask Emily to reveal itself.
