Was great to have Hodgey on the pod this week! The man loves his golf. He caught the bug hard when he moved down to Melbourne for rugby and he's been chasing single figures ever since. He is currently playing off 10, so he's not far off! Hodgey is a world class golf kicker and it was awesome to chat to him about how he uses the lessons he's learned in goal kicking to improve his golf game. He's played at some pretty unreal tracks and he's also got his sights on some big tracks to tick off on his golfing bucket list.

"The Right Amount of Rowdy" Podcast - Paddy Ryan
An awesome chat with big Paddy Ryan! Paddy fell in love with the game of golf during his 100 plus game career with the Waratahs. During his travels on Wallabies tours and playing rugby aboard, in both the USA and Japan, Paddy has managed to play some golf all over the world. However, nothing compares to his home track, the hallowed greens of North Bondi Golf and Diggers Club. 
As you can imagine, Paddy has some great golf stories over the years, including a huge bet on the 9th hole at North Bondi, meeting Rory McIlroy at Torrey Pines in San Diego and getting touched up by a 75 year old with the same handicap. Paddy also draws some interesting parallels between scrummaging and golf. 
Was great to have Paddy on the pod. Keep an eye out for him trying to break 30 at North Bondi Diggers!

In this episode, we had an awesome chat with Wallabies and Melbourne Rebels winger Andrew Kellaway! Kells is fresh off a golf trip to Tasmania and has come back with plenty of stories. Not only that, rugby has taken Kells all over the world, including England and Japan, and he has some great golf yarns from his travels.  
Some highlights include having his brand new clubs stolen, some Japanese driving range antics, and how he burgled 52 points in a competition after coming back to AUS and getting a new handicap! We also discuss how the competitive nature of golf and playing to your strengths can be transferred into rugby.

Last week, we chatted some golf with NSW cricketer and golf lover Chris Tremain. Some cracking yarns in this one! Although Chris makes a living playing cricket, the man might as well be on the PGA tour with the amount of golf he plays. And he is not alone. Cricketers love their golf! 


We have an awesome chat around what Chris's daily/weekly schedule looks like during the season and off-season (a lot of golf), his grip 'n' rip mentality on the course, his pursuit to shoot under-par, hitting his teammate with a flushed 3 wood, and many more yarns. Chris also doesn't shy away from throwing some of the cricket lads under the bus either. Great laughs!


Looking forward to getting back out on the course with Chris. From our chat, it seems as though Chris loses money on the course more than he wins. We will have to put a wager on our next round. I like my chances!

Playing out of Strathfield Golf Club, he gets out on the course as much as he can and doesn't shy away from the chance to wake up early and drive to the outskirts of Sydney to play a round!  


We chat about his favourite road trip to Mt Broughton Golf Club in the Southern Highlands, the art of trying to get your partner into golf (something we are both yet to master), his best round of golf, and the competition he has amongst his teammates.
