In the ongoing blame-game over who is responsible for the government shutdown, Republicans have become relentless in who they see as the main obstacle and what his motives are. Republicans in Congress, and Vice President J.D. Vance, say that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's concerns over a possible 2028 primary challenge from far-left darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has pushed him to convince Senate Democrats to defeat the GOP government funding bill. Meanwhile, the House will be out of D.C. all of next week on newly planned 'district work period'.
