I'd Waste It All Again Feat. Terry Tucker
22 December 2024
I'd Waste It All Again Feat. Terry Tucker

Day 12 of the 12 days of Christmas Series! 🎄☃️🎊 If time were ours to bargain with, would we spend it any differently? Would we cherish it more, or waste it all the same, just to feel its weight in our hands again?

In this deeply moving episode, your Local Neighborhood Baby chats with Terry Tucker—a man in the thick of a battle with cancer, a former SWAT hostage negotiator, and a beacon of resilience. Terry’s story is not about what’s been taken but about what remains: trust, empathy, and the choice to persist, even when life is unbearably heavy.

He shares the truths that have shaped him, guiding him through the darkest hours: the courage to embrace pain, the discipline to master the mind, and the profound understanding that legacy is not measured in time but in the love and impact we leave behind.

To hear Terry speak is to be reminded of life’s fragile beauty. His words call us to sit with discomfort, to trust in human connection, and to savor every moment—even the ones we wish would pass.

If I could have it back—all the time spent listening, learning, laughing—I’d waste it all again, and again, and again. Because moments like this, shared in honesty and hope, are never truly wasted.

This conversation is a gift, a reminder to live fully and love deeply, no matter how fleeting the time may feel.

Key 🗝️ Takeaways:

Terry Tucker's journey exemplifies resilience and mental strength.
The importance of trust and credibility in negotiations cannot be overstated.
Empathy plays a crucial role in crisis situations.

      Understanding builds trust in relationships.
You will fight harder for the people you love than for yourself.
Control your mind, or your mind will control you.
Doing small uncomfortable things daily builds resilience.
Life is for service, and we should focus on helping others.
As long as you don't quit, you can never be defeated.

Guest Bio:

Some people find rock bottom... I found out that rock bottom had a basement.

In my mid 20's... I had it all.

I had a beautiful girlfriend, high paying job, sports car, my dream body... but I still ended up sitting on the edge of a bed debating suicide.

After my rock bottom moment, I went all in on holistic self-improvement.

I was determined to overcome my anxiety, depression and to finally live the life I'd always dreamed of.

Years later, I now host a podcast that impacts hundreds of thousands of people in countries all over the world.

At this stage, I've helped grow the podcast into a $1M+ revenue business, and I've recorded well over 2,600+ episodes.

I've also given hundreds of speeches, trainings, and coaching sessions with people all over the world.

The main thing that changed was ME.

I focused on learning what I didn't know (unlearning a lot too), and my life started to shift.

I love talking about consistency, commitment, habits, mindset, confidence, fear, relationships, limiting beliefs, and everything in between.

I believe in a heart-driven but NO BS approach to holistic self-improvement, and I look forward to teaching even more people about what it really takes to get to the next level!

Guest Info:

Mortal Triumph, an apparel and lifestyle brand that aims to empower individuals through sacrifice and resilience. It is a military-inspired brand.

I want to provide a bit of background and my story of how this brand came to be. The inspiration started with my parents. My parents were Mexican immigrants who came here in search of better opportunities. I lost them at a young age; my mother when I was 10 and my father when I was 11. One of the major things I learned from them was that everything in life is earned through sacrifice.

They sacrificed everything so that we could have better opportunities. So after they died, I took that lesson everywhere. My work ethic became my power, and I took pride in the work that I did. Simply having an opportunity was an accomplishment.

This theme carried into college and ultimately led me to join the military as an EOD technician. I met some of the best people in the world during my military career. Lots of like-minded individuals who also believed in legacy and honor for a greater purpose. Some of them even gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.

So when I decided to create Mortal Triumph: these became my values: legacy, sacrifice, and triumph. By honoring those who came before who paved the way, we have the privilege to sacrifice in the present and work towards victory. We all die at some point, so why not earn it by living up to our values?

Ultimately, Mortal Triumph is a brand about self-empowerment through these ideas. In every garment, there is a story of sacrifice and glory, and each individual has the sacrifices they make each day.
