Mike Lawler has been the Congressman for New York’s 17th District for the past two terms, building his reputation around being active, accessible, and present for his constituents while holding a closely divided district. His office has handled thousands of constituent cases, and he has been recognized for working across party lines. He is now seeking a third term.In this episode, we had the honor of sitting down with Congressman Lawler to discuss his policies, putting constituents ahead of party politics, moments when that meant disagreeing with President Trump, and why he believes being accessible to the press and public is part of the job.We also go back to the beginning — his childhood, what shaped him, his early work in politics, including John McCain’s presidential campaign, and the journey that eventually brought him to Congress.ShmueliCast hotline: 718-970-8884.SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE! 🖥️
