Basuri melodies in Melbourne: ‘Playing beyond four walls!’ - मेलबर्नमा बाँसुरीको धुन: ‘बन्द कोठा, चार भित्तामा मात्र बजाएर पुग्दैन रैछ!’:

A group of Melbourne youth have recently completed their ’basuri‘ training. Melbourne-based community organisation Newa Pucha: Melbourne organised the Taste and Tunes event on Sunday, January 18. Speaking with SBS Nepali, President Sanjeeb Shrestha said the main objective of the program was to formally conclude the traditional flute training, while also showcasing Newari food and music, including Kumari dance and ‘dhime’ drums, to the broader multicultural community. Listen to our conversation with the organiser, newly finessed musicians and participants, as they reflect on the cultural significance of the musical instruments and their connection back home. - मेलबर्नस्थित सामुदायिक संस्था नेवा पुच: मेलबर्नको आयोजनामा ‘टेस्ट एन्ड ट्युन्स’ कार्यक्रम हालै सम्पन्न भएको थियो। आइतवार, जनवरी १८ मा एपिङमा आयोजित कार्यक्रममा नेवारी गीत-सङ्गीत, कुमारी नृत्य, बाँसुरी र धिमे बाजाको प्रस्तुति रहेको थियो। कार्यक्रमको मुख्य उद्देश्य करिब सात महिनादेखि बाँसुरी सिक्दै आएका विद्यार्थीहरूको तालिम औपचारिक रूपमा समापन गर्ने र नेवारी परम्परागत खाना र सङ्गीतलाई बहुसांस्कृतिक समुदाय समक्ष पस्कने रहेको संस्थाका आयोजक संजिब श्रेष्ठले एसबीएस नेपालीलाई बताएका छन्। श्रेष्ठ लगायत, बाँसुरी बजाउन सिकेका युवा प्रशिक्षार्थी तथा सहभागी केही सदस्यहरूसँग यसको महत्त्व र अनुभव लगायत विविध विषयमा गरिएको कुराकानी सुन्नुहोस्।
