Listener Shoutout: Picayune Mississippi. This city was named by Eliza Nicholson who named it after her newspaper, which was in turn named after a small spanish coin. Picayune is located almost on the gulf coast of Mississippi, just 45 minutes from New Orleans. The city is built on the traditional lands of the Choctaw people, some of whom still live in the area.
