The St Francis House: Crazy, but Batting for the Right Team – Liz Whyte & Joseph Campo
Radio Maria Ireland
Liz Whyte talks to Joseph Campo, who has run the St Francis House since Fr Benedict Groeschel handed it to him in 1992, and who has now moved the work out of a gentrified Brooklyn to upstate New York. Joe went to Fr Benedict convinced he was going mad after something that happened to him at Medjugorje, in one minute, on the Feast of the Assumption, and was told he was indeed crazy, but batting for the right team. Most of the young men who reach him have never had a father, and in America the state's care of them ends on their eighteenth birthday. He says more gets settled at the dinner table than anywhere else in the house.
