The Irish Synodal Pathway: Where We Are Now – Fr Declan Hurley and Liz Whyte

Liz Whyte talks to Fr Declan Hurley, administrator of St Mary's parish in Navan and chair of the National Synodal Team, on the eve of the Irish Synodal Assembly. He traces the path from the bishops' surprise announcement in 2021 to the 35 proposals now going before 300 delegates, and explains the five pathways in the working document, Is Not This What God Asks of You? He also talks honestly about what the process looks like from a parish struggling for volunteers, and what surprised him most along the way.
