Kanavan katsojat olivat kiinnittäneet huomiota lasten julmaan kohteluun jo aikaisemmin, mutta vasta vuonna 2023 selvisi, mitä kaikkea Rubyn kaksi nuorinta lasta olivat joutuneet kokemaan Tapahtumiin liittyi myös Jodi Hildebrandt, mormonipiireissä suosittu “life coach” ja terapeutti, johon Ruby oli tutustunut ja jolta hän oli pyytänyt apua lasten kasvattamiseen.
