Rebecca Zahau menehtyi kuuluisalla Spreckles-kartanolla Coronadossa Yhdysvalloissa vuonna 2011. Vain pari päivää aikaisemmin Rebeccan miesystävän 6-vuotias poika Max oli joutunut samassa kartanossa vakavaan onnettomuuteen Rebeccan vahtivuorolla. Rebeccan kuolinsyyksi todettiin nopeasti itsemurha, mutta jutun outojen yksityiskohtien takia kaikki eivät ole nielleet virallista selitystä.
