On this episode of Housekeys, host Cam Villa sits down with Sacramento real estate veteran Zoritha Thompson, whose career spans more than 36 years in the industry. Born in Japan, raised in South Sacramento, Zoritha began her real estate journey with Century 21 before eventually opening her own brokerage, Goree and Thompson Real Estate. She shares the emotional story behind keeping the brokerage name after her business partner passed away from cancer just two years after opening the company. Zoritha reflects on how technology has evolved over the years, while emphasizing the importance of creativity, hard work, and doing what others won't, whether that meant wrapping RT buses or buying a moving van for marketing. A self-described city girl living in Wilton, Zoritha also shares her adventurous side, from triathlons and scuba diving to skiing with Sacramento's Ebony Ski Club, while crediting SAR and the grievance committee for helping sharpen her skills and expand opportunities in the industry.
