Af: Die herfsblaaie kraak onder die voete van Liezl en Johan terwyl hulle stap in die pragtige Kirstenbosch Botaniese Tuin.
En: The autumn leaves crunch under the feet of Liezl and Johan as they walk in the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden.
Af: Die lug is koel en vars, en die berge hou wag oor hulle soos ou vriende wat luister.
En: The air is cool and fresh, and the mountains stand guard over them like old friends who listen.
Af: Liezl kyk na haar jonger broer, Johan, en sien die verlore uitdrukking in sy oë.
En: Liezl looks at her younger brother, Johan, and sees the lost expression in his eyes.
Af: Sy weet sy moet iets doen.
En: She knows she must do something.
Af: “Kom, Johan,” sê sy sag.
En: "Come, Johan," she says softly.
Af: “Kom ons stap bietjie.
En: "Let's take a little walk."
Af: ”Die sonlig speel deur die blare en skep 'n goue gloed op die paadjie.

Af: ”Johan staar na die grond, sy frons dieper as die skaduwees van die bome.
En: Johan stares at the ground, his frown deeper than the shadows of the trees.
Af: “Ek voel.
En: "I feel...

En: lost."
Af: ”Liezl stap nader en sit haar arm om sy skouer.
En: Liezl steps closer and puts her arm around his shoulders.
Af: Sy wil hom die gemoedsrus gee wat sy self soms mis.
En: She wants to give him the peace of mind that she sometimes misses herself.
Af: “Jy hoef nie alles nou te verstaan nie,” sê sy.
En: "You don't have to understand everything now," she says.
Af: “Ons vat dit een dag op 'n slag.
En: "We take it one day at a time.
Af: En ek is altyd hier om te help.
En: And I'm always here to help."
Af: ”Hulle loop verder, die klanke van voëls vul die lug, en die geur van vars aarde omhul hulle.

En: They walk further, together through the flower gardens.
Af: Elkeen van hulle dra seer, maar nou voel dit 'n bietjie ligter, 'n bietjie meer hanteerbaar.
En: Each of them carries pain, but now it feels a little lighter, a bit more manageable.
Af: Johan kyk na die helder blomme en sê, “Miskien is verandering nie altyd sleg nie.
En: Johan looks at the bright flowers and says, "Maybe change isn't always bad."
Af: ”Liezl glimlag en druk sy skouer.
En: Liezl smiles and squeezes his shoulder.
Af: “Ons is sterker as wat ons dink,” sê sy, meer aan haarself as aan hom.
En: "We are stronger than we think," she says, more to herself than to him.
