June 19th is the federal holiday signed into law by President Biden one year ago that commemorates the Union Army informing the enslaved Africans that they were freed by President Lincoln on June 19, 1866. We will take a look at the traditions and celebrations that celebrate that freedom, along with the accomplishments and meanings of Juneteenth today
Next, we recap a few of the high points of the Jan. 6th Committee’s first three hearings where they unveil their findings to the American public. We will also talk about how the public feels about whether former President Trump should be held to account for the insurrection
We will discuss the upcoming verdict from the Supreme Court on the fate of the Roe vs Wade decision and the battles forming as the future of women’s reproductive rights come into question. We examine some of the state-based efforts to provide some form of protection or to reinforce the high court decision.
