For many of us, almsgiving feels simple… until it isn’t.
You see someone asking for help, and suddenly there are questions. Are we really helping? Or are we unknowingly contributing to something else?
Because of that uncertainty, sometimes the easiest response is to look away.
But almsgiving has always been one of the core practices of Lent—together with prayer and fasting. So why does the Church insist on it?

Through Scripture, especially Matthew 25, we explore how almsgiving is not only about changing someone else’s situation. It’s also about allowing God to transform how we see others, and how we respond to them.
Because sometimes, almsgiving begins not when we give something away… but when we refuse to look away.
