Avoid These 5 Players in Fantasy Football This Season

Identifying fantasy football busts is just as important as finding sleepers, and several popular names carry significant risk at their current ADPs.  

 

At running back, Bucky Irving and Travis Etienne Jr. are players to avoid due to concerns about workload uncertainty, touchdown regression, and increased competition for touches that could prevent them from returning draft-day value.

 

At wide receiver, DK Metcalf and Alec Pierce come with substantial downside, as Metcalf faces questions about offensive volume and target consistency in Pittsburgh, while Pierce remains a boom-or-bust deep threat who relies heavily on big plays rather than dependable weekly targets.  

 

At tight end, rookie Oronde Gadsden II has generated buzz, but projecting immediate fantasy relevance for a first-year player at one of the NFL’s toughest positions to learn is a risky bet.
