首相安华领导的希望联盟仅夺得11席，比上届减少6席，再度受挫。其中交通部长兼民主行动党秘书长陆兆福更在连任13年的真纳区意外落选，遭遇政治生涯首败。

In the Negeri Sembilan state election on Aug 1, the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) alliance won 25 seats, taking control of the state from Pakatan Harapan (PH). PH, led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, won only 11 seats. Notably, Transport Minister and secretary-general of the Democratic Action Party (DAP) Anthony Loke lost his Chennah seat, marking his first electoral defeat since entering politics in 2004.
