IF FEAR is creeping in because of the holidays: (do your thoughts sound like this?)
“What if I fall off track?”
“What if I lose momentum?”
“What if it takes me months to recover… again?”

Ever had the mental spiral where you miss a workout or two, and suddenly your brain says:

“Does it even matter?”“You’ve already messed up this week, might as well restart Monday.”“New Year’s is close — just let things slide and reboot January 1st.”

If that sounds familiar, I’ve got three powerful thoughts you can tuck in your back pocket — so you can move into the holidays with confidence instead of fear.

1. Focus on Consistency Over Time

Not perfection. Not rigidity. Consistency. Over. Time.

Sustainable success doesn’t come from perfect weeks — it comes from showing up in imperfect weeks.

Life doesn’t operate on "ideal weeks."
Life has holidays, travel, sickness, chaos, last-minute changes.

So instead of perfect, ask:
What is the smallest, most doable version of my routine I can still show up for?

2. Make Decisions with Your Future Self in Mind

Whenever your brain whispers, “Does this even matter?”
 Ask your future self.

She will always tell you it matters.

Small choices feel insignificant in the moment because we only evaluate them based on weight loss.  When you evaluate them based on your whole health, they become powerful.

Future-you is counting on you.

3. Commit to Accountability — Especially When Life Gets Busy

Accountability doesn’t mean rigid discipline; it means supporting yourself wisely.

Here are a few holiday-friendly ways to stay grounded:

Use your calendar.

Scheduling workouts, grocery runs, or meal prep increases your follow-through.
Even if plans change — having the intention written down matters.

Use tracking tools if they help you.

A few days of food logging, step tracking, or sleep tracking can keep you aligned with your goals without perfection.

Use people.

Hire a trainer, plug into a group, or check in with your coach.
If something is on your calendar — especially with another human attached — you’re far more likely to show up.

Accountability truly is magic, because it keeps your brain from negotiating you out of what matters.
