Author: Vishnu Sharma

Once upon a time, there were two friends in a small village named Dharmabuddhi (Right-Mind) and Paapbuddhi (Wrong-Mind). One day, the wicked of the two, Paapbuddhi, suggested to his friend ith Dharmabuddhi that they can earn good money by selling goods in other cities. Dharmabuddhi agreed to his suggestion and they left for trying their luck. After earning a good amount of money, when they were returning back, Paapbuddhi made a cunning plan to steal his friend’s share too. He asked his friend to hide the money under a tree on the way to not to catch the eyes of their villagers.

Then one-day Paapbuddhi stole the money for himself and blamed Dharmabuddhi for it in front of all village elders. Dharmabuddhi had now understood the plot of his friend and took the matter to a magistrate. Paapbudhi cleverly suggested that the tree under which the money was hidden will speak the truth and planted his own father inside it’s hollow base. Dharmabudhi knew this and set the tree on fire and Paapbuddhi’s father has to eventually come out, exposing his son’s evil trick.

One day a lion was searching for food. He was very old and weak and unable to catch his preys by chasing them. Suddenly the lion saw a cave on his way and upon inspecting inside he found it to be empty. That gave the lion an idea and he thought to himself, “ If I stay here, the owner of the cave is bound to return and that’s when I’ll jump upon it and make it my meal.” He waited patiently till the night fell and the jackal who actually lived in the cave came back. Jackal saw the footprints of the lion and he got suspicious.

Jackal decided to trick the lion and started asking cave why the cave was not speaking to him today. Lion thought that may be cave actually does speak to Jackal every night and decided to call him in himself today. On hearing lion’s voice, Jackal got certain that lion is hiding inside and he ran away from the place to save his life.

Tit for Tat (जैसे को तैसा)
Author - Vishnu Sharma

Once there lived a boy whose name was Jirdhan. He suffered a huge loss in his business and decided to travel around in search of opportunities to earn money. With no special possession left in the house, he decided to keep his 20 kg heavy iron scales with a merchant and left. With hard work, he earned handsomely and after a few years returned back to his native place. When he went to the merchant and requested him to give back his heritage, the merchant told him that mice had eaten his iron scales.

Jirdhan understood that the merchant was lying and he decided to teach him a lesson. He told him that he is going to take a bath on the river bank and if the merchant wanted to send his son too, he can take him along. Merchant believed him to be an honest person and sent his son along. Jirdhan then hid the merchant’s son and returned back alone. Upon inquiry by the merchant, he told him that eagles have picked up his son and flew away. When the matter went to the local judge, the merchant is forced to commit his theft and return Jirdhan his prized possession in return for his son.

This story teaches us an important lesson that we will be treated the same way as we treat others.

The Story of Blue Jackal (नीला सियार की कहानी)
20 March 2020
The Story of Blue Jackal (नीला सियार की कहानी)
Author - Vishnu Sharma

Once lived a clever jackal under a tree. But on an unfortunate day, the tree fell down and the jackal was injured severely. Somehow he managed to go in a cave nearby where he stayed for a few days thirsty and hungry. After staying hungry in the cave for few days, he decided to hunt again for the food by going out but couldn’t catch a prey due to his injury.
Soon he was chased by a group of dogs and he managed to escape the forest but accidentally entered the house of a dyer and fell into a vat of blue dye.
When he returned back to the forest, his new appearance surprised everyone and no other animal was able to recognize the jackal. That’s when he came up with a clever idea and claimed himself to the messenger of god and king of the jungle. All the other animals started to serve him and he enjoyed a very luxurious life till one day he heard other jackals howling nearby and his natural instinct forces him to join them. When other animals saw him doing this, they realize he is just a jackal and punishes him for his misdeeds.

This story teaches us to stay true to what we really are and not try and pretend to be someone else as one day we will be caught.
