Conservatives Are Getting the Worst of Both Worlds with the GOP |9|28|26

What happens when a political party takes on the liabilities of governing — but delivers few of the policy results its voters expect? We are being asked to defend Republican candidates and institutions while simultaneously watching the party subvert us on immigration, the economy, judicial power, surveillance, data centers, and other issues central to the conservative movement. I lay out an alternative approach centered on grassroots organization, targeted candidates, party-rule reform, independent candidates, conventions, and sustained issue advocacy. Simply perpetuating the status quo is not an option and will result in Democrats winning until the eye can see.
