अपूर्वा सृष्टिः

जगतः‌ सृष्टिं कर्तुम् उद्यतः ब्रह्मा कौमुदीसदृशं हासं, चम्पकस्य सुगन्धम्, अमृतस्य माधुर्यं च संयोज्य एकां मृत्तिकामूर्तिं निर्मितवान् । सा मूर्तिः तु अपूर्वा आसीत् । कान्त्या शोभते स्म । 'मृन्मयी मूर्तिरेषा कथम् अपूर्वा भवितुम् अर्हति?’ इति यदा कश्चन देवदूतः ब्रह्मदेवम् अपृच्छत् तदा ब्रह्मदेवः मन्दहासपूर्वकं तस्य मृन्मय्याः मूर्तेः वैशिष्टयं, तस्य आकारस्य (शरीरस्य) प्राधान्यं च विवृणोति ।
(“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)

When Brahmā set out to create the world, he combined the radiance of moonlight-like laughter, the fragrance of champaka flowers, and the sweetness of nectar to form a clay image. That figure was extraordinary, shining with beauty. When a celestial messenger asked, “How can this clay form be so unique?” Brahmā smiled and explained the special qualities of the figure and the importance of its form (the human body).
