The Wonders of Hyaluronic Acid with Vet Humphrey Grimmett

We’re joined by Vet, Dr Humphrey Grimmett, discussing why adding long chain oral Hyaluronic Acid (HA) can help balance the body’s HA resources as it naturally depletes with age.

Playing a key role as nature’s ‘sponge’ or shock absorber, HA is a compound dogs produce naturally, but its production slows down with age or after injury. 

This can impact on mobility as one of the main purposes of HA is to cushion the moveable joints, the knees, hips, and shoulders enabling them to move smoothly, rather than becoming stiff and potentially causing pain. 

We chat about other factors that HA contributes to in human’s as well as dogs and of course cats too! This includes eye health and skin health. But Humphrey points out that the HA found in face creams is a short chain form, whereas taken orally the long chain has been scientifically proven to be absorbed more efficiently.
