Carlos de la Torre is Director of the UF Center for Latin American Studies. He was a fellow at the Simon Guggenheim Foundation and the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars.
His most recent books are The Routledge Handbook of Global Populism; Populisms a Quick Immersion, De Velasco a Correa: Insurreciones, populismo y elecciones en Ecuador, The Promise and Perils of Populism, Latin American Populism of the Twenty-First Century.
Resarch interest: Populism, democratization, and authoritarianism; racism and citizenship in the Americas. Geographic expertise: Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia
