This novel presents a fascinatingly detailed and well-researched yet imaginative exploration of the ancient Egyptian death culture during the turbulent reign of Akhnaton. Born Amenhotep IV, meaning "Amun is satisfied", this pharaoh adopted the name "Akhenaten" while abandoning the traditional, polytheistic Egyptian religion in favor of an absolutely monotheistic one based upon the worship of Aten.
